Structures and mechanisms
The development of structures and mechanisms for spacecraft and their components has already been fully undertaken by the MTS department for many projects.
Deployable Structures
Deployable structures are structures that can change their shape and size (automatically) from a compact configuration to a large, open configuration.
Thermal control systems
The temperature of the Solar System varies between the -270 degrees Celsius of background radiation in space to the +5500 degrees Celsius on the surface of the Sun.
Degradation
The degradation group of the MTS department works in a field of materials science and engineering as well as radiation analysis. The materials used in space industry are tested under the conditions similar to those present in space. The tests are performed by use of the so-called Complex Irradiation Facility (CIF).
