Environmental Tests

Investigations for Space Qualification and Load Tests

  • Thermal-vacuum simulation, space simulation including high vacuum, solar simulation, cryogenic shroud
  • Vibration, shock and linear acceleration tests
  • Humidity tests, thermal cycle tests, temperature during transportation
  • EMC tests
  • radiated emission ( E- field: 1kHz ... 10 GHz / H-field: 20 Hz - 30 MHz ) conducted emission (100 Hz - 50 MHz )
  • Low / high pressure test
  • Material investigations (outgassing-UHV, Micro volatile condensable material MVCM etc. )
  • Investigation of degradation effects of spaceborne materials by the simultaneous simulation of space environment factors in the following optical ranges: VUV, VIS, IR as well as particle bombardment by protons and electrons.

Development and Verification of Methods for Environmental Tests

  • Model philosophy and test procedures
  • Studies for the modification of test facilities
  • New test methods for thermal-vacuum and vibration tests
    - Identification of heat exchange parameters of thermal network by transient measured nodal temperatures
    - Force limited vibration testing
    - Vibration with sine transients

The following test facilities have an accreditation, confirmed by the DAP (Deutsches Akkreditierungssystem Prüfwesen GmbH - German Accreditation System) as the accreditation body:

  • Space and Solar simulation chamber
  • UHV- and Micro VCM test facility
  • Vibration and Shock test facility
  • Climatic test chamber

This accreditation has been awarded on the basis of an assessment and pursuant to the agreement concluded with the accredition body with respect to the accreditation of a testing laboratory in accordance with the rules and procedures of the German Accreditation System, in conformity with the European Standards DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2000.
