FLOW-3D and OpenFoam
Commercial software (FLOW-3D) as well as Open Source software (OpenFoam) is used for calculation and simulation of critical fluid and thermodynamic phenomena within cryogenic tank- and feed systems.
The aim is the exact prediction of system relevant flow processes and thermodynamic effects to support design and development of experiments and technologies with regard to cryogenic fluid management. Cryogenic experiments at the DLR laboratory will be performed for the verification and validation of the numerical models.
