On 31 August 2009 ESA engineers prepared the observation dome for transport to the International Space Station, where it will be joined to the Tranquility connecting module. The metal doors conceal six windows.
Cupola will be used on the ISS for observation purposes, to control the robotic arm and as a relaxation space for the astronauts.
