The Optical Communications Group of the German Aerospace Center’s Institute of Communications and Navigation is constantly offering positions for Internships and Bachelor-/Diploma-/Master-Theses.
- Duration: 3…6 Months
- Start: By arrangement
- Topics
- Design, Development and Test of Optical and Electronic Systems
- Support for various measurement campaigns regarding optical aircraft- and satellite-downlinks
- Simulations of the optical atmospheric communication channel
- Evaluation of Measurement Data
- Requirements
- Fluency in English or German
- Study of Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Physics (or similar)
- Self-motivated and autonomous working behaviour
- Short Description
Optical Free-Space Communications offer a solution for the increasing demand of data rate e.g. for the downlink of surveillance data from moving platforms (UAVs, …), from satellites, and in many other applications. The data rates of traditional RF systems can be boosted by orders of magnitude, while optical communication terminals are smaller, lighter, and consume less power. We offer interesting jobs for students who are keen on developing cutting-edge technology in an interesting and challenging research environment.
