Antennas
Antennas and networks in microstrip-technology
The antenna working group works on research and development tasks in the context of national and international projects and co-operations and operates an antenna far-field range. Their main goal is the advancement of new technologies and the translation into practical designs and demonstrators. The topics include smart antennas with digital beamforming, their integration and miniaturization as well as the inclusion of new materials and conformal structures into the simulation procedures. However, special developments in conventional technology are also realized. The group was a member of the Antenna Centre of Excellence (ACE), a Network of Excellence (NoE) funded within the 6th Framework Program of the EU.
The fields of work are:
Efficient simulation procedures for the design of conformal antennas
SEQAR - Simulation tool for antenna arrays
Installed antenna performance
Beamforming and beamsteering algorithms
Adaptive antennas and front ends for satellite navigation
Satellite and terminal antennas for broadband communications
Antennas for radar applications
Antenna and RF measurement techniques
Antenna test rang
Network analyzer
Spectrum analyze
RF probe station
Measuring microscope
