UniTaS III

UNITAS
The UniTaS III project (support program for industrial activities and technology transfer in the area of applied satellite navigation for aviation) follows the UniTaS (FKZ 50NA9911) and UniTaS (FKZ 50NA0104) programs supported by DLR/BMBF. The content is the scientific investigation of special problems in the application of satellite navigation for aviation. The close connection to the industrial programs RIPA, BIFIS and BIS ensures, that topics were selected that cover problems which are relevant for actual industrial needs, and that solutions were developed which can be further developed and be utilized in actual products.

DLR KN is involed in UniTaS III with the following topics:

  1. Development of advanced adaptive antenna algorithms for reliable supression of multipath effects and interferers in GNSS receivers.
  2. Implementation of algorithms  in a SW-receiver in co-operation with the Institute of Navigation of the University of Stuttgart and performing simulations

Besides theoretical investigations of algorithms, in particular the aspects of practical implementation in a receiver are investigated by simulations. Goal is the investigation of the efficiency of adaptive antennas in comparison to and in combination with classical methods for multipath and interference mitigation.
