Diploma Thesis

Our Institutes offers a variety of topics for internships with duration of 1 to 3 months. The work encompasses theoretical investigations, computer simulations, prototyping and measurement campaigns in the areas of satellite communications and navigation, aeronautical communications, terrestrial mobile radio, optical free space communications and communications for transportation systems.

If you are interested in an internship, please contact directly the heads of our 3 scientific departments in order to get up-to-date information about current topics and opportunities:

  • “Communications Systems”; Dr. Uwe-Carsten Fiebig (uwe.fiebig@dlr.de) for aeronautical communications, terrestrial mobile radio, indoornavigation, context-aware services and communications for transport.
  • “Digital networks”; Prof. Dr. Erich Lutz (erich.lutz@dlr.de) for satellite communications (broadband and mobile) and optical free space communications.
  • “Navigation”; Prof. Dr. Arno Schroth (arno.schroth@dlr.de) for satellite navigation including time and ground infrastructure, user terminals, antennas, validation, augmentation systems and ionospheric issues.

Examples of specific topics are:
