This is the map of Mars after three years using the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on Mars Express. All of the image strips created from the nadir channel (Hirsch’s vertical lower view) are reproduced on a global map of Mars: The brighter a single colour strip, the higher the image resolution: The dark green colour strips, which cover approximately one third of the surface of Mars, are examples of HRSC images at the highest resolution of 10-20 metres per pixel.
