Medical screening of professional groups (Health Telematics)

The implications of sleep disorders (e.g. sleep apnoea) for safety are generally underestimated. Screening studies in groups which have a very high risk for having a fatigue related accident (e.g. professional drivers, workers on machines) are therefore desirable to improve occupational safety and health. By using modern medical techniques (telematics) such investigations can be conducted at home. This makes it possible to improve the acceptance of screening programs as well as to reduce costs.
