Optical sensorics and electronics (RM-ES)
Scientific work concentrates on the development of electronic system solutions for imaging spectrometers and camera systems for surveying and evaluating physical parameters in the aerospace, aeronautical, transportation and other industries based on modular analog and digital components capable of controlling, read out data handling, recalibration and processing the sensors and the generation of data products. The necessary real-time digital information systems are simulated using VHDL and implemented in FPGA's. The radiometric and geometric precision required is defined an the basis of preliminary theoretical physical considerations. At the same time, the type of sensor (line, matrix) and the control methods (TDI, interline, frame transfer) are determined. For the most part, quantum sensors and bolometers are used and examined in wave length ranges trom visual to thermal infrared. Current sensor systems frequently cover a range of up to 500 MByte/s and radiometric dynamics of up to 21 bits so that scientific phenomena can be detected and classified. The unit is familiar with all standards such as MIL, SPACE, QMP, QPL, RCA, IS0 and has an effective quality management system.
