Head of the Institute (temporarily)
Institute of Optical Sensor Systems
The main expertise of this Institute is the development of intelligent sensors and data processing software solutions for commercial, industrial and scientific purposes.
Information Processing of Optical Systems
The department IOS possesses a substantial pool of expertise in sensor systems for optical exploration, involving their design, development, implementation and testing, particularly of algorithms and software solutions.
Optical Sensors and Electronics
Scientific work concentrates on the development of electronic system solutions for imaging spectrometers and camera systems for surveying and evaluating physical parameters in the aerospace, aeronautical, transportation and other industries based on modular analog and digital components.
Department for Sensor Concepts and Applications
Our main work focus lies in the definition and development of new camera sensors, verification and validation of airborne sensors and satellite sensors, the processing of data products and the development of products and applications. In addition diverse research and development is performed in close cooperation with other DLR departments, as well as pilot projects run in cooperation with international partners from industry, research institutions and universities.
