This book presents the essential physics and methodology about transiting planets. It is an excellent start to understand the fast growing field of exoplanets, especially the transit method. Emphasis is given on the selection and the quality of the figures and pictures supporting the message of the text book. Each chapter is followed by excercises where the detailed solutions are given in the appendix. Therefore the book may be used for self study as well as for preparing for examinations.
