Education Research, Integration, Gender Research

In internationally competing for future prospects, education and research are becoming central societal resources. If Germany’s innovative capacity is to be secured for the long term, its people must have access to education and knowledge, and equal development opportunities in science and research. Successful reforms in these areas require a national effort of all those involved. The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (Bundesministerium für Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend, BMFSFJ) are meeting these challenges through a wide range of initiatives to promote research projects and effective innovations in the fields of education and equal opportunities. The Project Management Agency in the German Aerospace Center DLR (PMA in DLR) is supporting the BMBF and the BMFSFJ in developing and implementing these initiatives.

The activities of the PMA in DLR in the fields of education and equal opportunities centre on

• Assisting in the development and implementation of initiatives and programs in educational research, along with other supporting measures
• Overseeing measures and programs to promote equal opportunities in education and research and to assist in the integration of disadvantaged people
• Assisting in designing and implementing measures to promote research, development and testing processes for media-supported training courses and structural reforms in vocational training
• Project management for the BMBF Framework Program for the Promotion of Empirical Educational Research, including promoting the National Educational Panel
