Project Initiatives

The PT-DLR is not just continuously expanding the scope of its work in the “traditional fields”, but is also involved in establishing and developing innovative new initiatives. Unless they can be assigned directly to one of the specialist units, the initiatives fall under the remit of a dedicated organisational unit, “Project Initiatives”. The fields of activity focus on the Science Years Office, Exporting vocational training and Ascot (Technology-based Assessment of Skills and Competencies in VET).

Exporting vocational training

Around the world, education and knowledge, and increasingly vocational education are identified and acknowledged as drivers of innovation, economic growth and prosperity. However, many countries are unable to meet the existing and still growing need for high-level qualifications within their own education systems. Kompetenzmessung dient zunehmend als Grundlage für bildungspolitische Steuerungsprozesse. Daher wird die empirisch valide Ermittlung von Bildungsergebnissen auch in der Berufsbildung immer notwendiger. Mit outcome-orientierten Kompetenzmessverfahren soll die Produktivität von Bildungsgängen, die Qualität einzelner Bildungseinrichtungen und der Lernerfolg von Individuen messbar gemacht werden. Um das Thema voranzutreiben, fördert das BMBF hierzu Forschungs- und Entwicklungsprojekte
