Electronics and Electronics Systems
Be it smartphones, computers or the latest cars, nowadays nothing works without electronics. Innovative electronics systems are the driver of our modern society. Largely unnoticed, they are responsible for the quality and functionality of products and services bearing the seal “Made in Germany”. As a part of the Project Management Agency in DLR we provide services for the Federal Government’s research funding programmes in the field of “Electronics and Electronics Systems” within the BMBF research programme ICT 2020.
We have been competently advising the Federal Ministry of Education and Research on all scientific and technological issues relating to the field of electronics systems development (systems integration) for over 20 years.
Our core competency is EDA – electronic design automation – in microelectronics and systems development, which as a key technology is the basis of innovation in Germany’s most important branches of industry. We observe technological trends, recommend areas of demand for funding policy measures and handle professional and administrative project management for R&D projects on behalf of the BMBF. In addition, we evaluate and accompany European R&D projects.
The funding areas we manage focus on fields with high societal demand and industries with high levels of value creation, such as automotive/electromobility, medical technology, plant construction and mechanical engineering. Our aim is to strengthen Germany’s leading role in electronics and electronics systems, ensure its competitiveness and increase its attractiveness as a business location.
