European and International Cooperation

Participating in the global progress of knowledge requires international cooperation. International partnerships in cutting-edge research areas can contribute decisively to solving global problems. Against this background, PT-DLR is supporting the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) in implementing its internationalisation strategy.

EU Programmes

In addition to the national research promotion, the PT-DLR is also in charge of multilateral European programmes. On behalf of the BMBF, the PT-DLR is actively involved in shaping these programmes and in disseminating information to the interested public. Similar to the national research promotion, calls for proposals related to specific research priorities are published on European level; Proposals come from public institutions and from industry.

International Bureau of the BMBF – Networking research and education across the world

The International Bureau at the PT-DLR supports the BMBF in its international activities, with the aim of networking research and education activities across the world.

The IB’s central responsibilities include the support and establishment of steady international cooperation in the areas of research and education. In this context, the International Bureau advises German institutions on the subject of international research cooperation and provides financial support for the development of new contacts and collaborations.
