Research funding today incorporates not only national, but always also international aspects. Within the European Research Area (ERA), the coordination and integration of existing national funding programs and collaboration between researchers in multinational projects funded by the European Union in the European states are becoming increasingly important. In this area, PT-DLR has taken on special responsibility for several multilateral European programs and measures, the content and structure of which it is involved in shaping on behalf of the BMBF and the BMWi with the aim of enabling German companies and research institutions to participate in these programs and supporting and assisting them in all phases of this participation.
Against this background, the PT-DLR organizational units “International Bureau” and “European Programs” have been merged into a joint working area "European and International Cooperation".
