DLR auditing is particularly challenged in order to support a practicable and efficient quality management system for DLR, which is exemplary in the European research landscape. In DLR's internal audits, it is checked, appraised and questioned. Rather, the exchange between the institutes and institutions should be promoted in the sense of "learning from each other" and thus making effective use of synergies and potentials.
The focus is on the systematic recording and communication of best practice examples. In the course of the audit discussions, the specialist colleagues have the opportunity to discuss solution approaches to problems and to analyze their implementation in the real processes. At the same time, the internal audits provide a reliable preparation for the conduct of the audits by external certification bodies.
All auditors appointed by DLR have excellent training in quality management. There are also other trained auditors in different areas
- EN 9100 (aviation, space and defense) - Environmental Protection - Safety - Energy - VDA (automotive industry) - ESCC (space components)
which are continuously checked and confirmed by external certifiers.
The consistent adherence to the strict requirements for the training of the auditors ensures a reliable standard and ensures a high quality level with regard to the process results of the institutes and facilities. DLR auditing plays an important role for the further development of DLR and the expansion of its competitive advantages.
