The objective to achieve a comprehensive certification capability of DLR’s institutes and facilities requires a dedicated work of quality representatives. With the appointment of three additional quality representatives, all institutes and facilities in DLR now are able to present a contact person concerning quality management. Combined with the new task is the participation in the Permanent Working Group of Quality Representatives.
Mrs. Hanser succeeds Mr. Piskurek in the Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics. In April 2014, she was appointed to the new quality representative. by the Head of Institute, Prof. Dr. Thess, and the DLR Quality Management Representative, Mrs. Schade. Since 2012, Mrs. Hanser as a quality engineer is responsible for the development of the quality management system and since then continuously represents the institute in the Permanent Working Group of Quality Representatives. The system having been implemented in collaboration with Mr. Piskurek will be audited in May. Mrs. Hanser spells Mr. Piskurek after four years at his function as quality representative and takes on responsibility for the system now.
In December 2013, Dr. Schneider Kühnle followed Mr. Herzler as a quality representative in the Institute of Combustion Technology. Dr. Schneider-Kühnle has now been officially appointed by both the Institute Director ,Prof. Dr. Aigner, and Mrs. Schade to the institute’s quality representative. In addition to his role as head of infrastructure being responsible for cross-sectional tasks, upgrading of safety equipment of the laboratory areas, and the institute’s IT management, he now will take care of establishing the quality management system in the Institute of Combustion Technology as well.
Mrs. Gerhardt was appointed in January 2014. She works as a quality representative in the Institute of Propulsion Technology at the Goettingen site and replaces Mr. Kampmann who attended this task from the Cologne site until now. Mrs. Gerhardt was appointed by both the Head of Institute, Prof. Dr. Mönig, and the Quality Management Representative, Mrs. Schade. Mrs. Gerhardt takes over a system already in existence having been co-designed by herself and having achieved certification capability in December 2013. Her major task in the institute is in the range of project assistance and science management. With her support, the institute aspires a certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 as well as a possible further development toward DIN EN 9100.
