The German Space Operations Center (GSOC) at Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich is Germany's control center for spacecraft operations.
The control center is responsible for planning, implementing and operating all ground segment systems required for reliable and efficient spaceflight missions. This includes all relevant flight dynamics, mission planning, communications and data acquisition functions.
Our experience in spacecraft operations dates back to the late 1960s. GSOC has become one of the leading centers for space mission operations in Europe with more than 40 successful missions on its record. These missions include our current activities regarding operations of the European ISS module Columbus. In addition, we are preparing and operating a fleet of earth observation and military satellites and are intensively involved in the implementation of the European satellite navigation system Galileo.
GSOC wants to share its experience with people from all areas of the space industry, public agencies and others who would like to enhance their knowledge about spacecraft operations and ground segment design. The Spacecraft Operations Course presents an integrated approach to spacecraft operations by providing insight into how the various satellite subsystems are operated and how they interact with one another. The course will be of value to a broad range of companies and organizations that are involved in the area of spaceflight, including manufacturers, users, insurers and operators.
