DLR performed all tasks of in orbit payload operations and for astronaut employment during the flight of a German astronaut on-board of the Russian MIR-Station in 1992. During the MIR'92E mission real-time video transmission was established and experiment (VOG) video data has been sent directly from the MIR to GSOC. Also on-board stored telemetry data could be transferred via the TsUP/DLR/GSOC satellite link using the Austrian DATAMIR unit, the MIR telemetry system and the TsUP ground processing facility. Monitoring and control of the spectrometer MKS-M2 was the main task of the MIR "Demonstration Mission". An iterative process of external short term mission timelining together with TsUP could be demonstrated successfully.
