Sounding Rocket

Mobile Rocket Base (MORABA), part of the Space Operations and Astronaut Training Department is a division for planning, preparing and implementing scientific sounding rocket and balloon campaigns in the fields of Aeronomy, Magnetospherie, Astronomy, and Microgravity research. In addition satellite missions can be supported by mobile tracking radars for trajectory determination as well as with TT&C ground stations for data receiving and command transmission.

During the last three decades more than 250 campaigns have been performed in Sweden, Norway, Italy, France, Spain, Greenland, USA, Brazil, India, Australia, Japan, Spitzbergen and Antarctica.


MORABA is ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 certified for "Preparation and Conduct of Sounding Rocket Missions for various Scientific Applications" by Bureau Veritas.
