Telemetrie and Telecommand Systems

TELEMETRY SYSTEM
A fully qualified single board PCM encoder is available for use in aerospace TM applications. The unit is programmable with all system parameters such as bit frequency, word, frame and format length stored in EPROM. Up to eight parameter sets are selectable through external control lines. For ranging purposes, a highly stable oscillator can be connected externally. A micro controller on this board provides two RS 422 bi-directional interface lines, ten channel A/D conversion and status in/output. The encoder can be configured to provide all of the commonly used PCM codes. The premodulation filtered output can directly modulate the transmitter.

Up to eight interface boards, each servicing four remote slave input units may be coupled to the PCM encoder. The slave module is a self contained unit which can be inserted into an experiment section as and where required. 32 analogue signals, 8 reference signals, 36 digital inputs and 23 open collector outputs are provided. The onboard micro controller can be used for experiment control. Each slave modules are connected to the interface board through twin fibre optic links.

TELECOMMAND SYSTEM
A fully qualified single board central processor provides for TC capabilities. A FSK signal from a telecommand receiver is demodulated in dedicated hardware on the central processor board. All valid telecommand data is included into a compressed data package, time tagged and sent to be PCM encoder for insertion into the PCM format. At the same time the data package is sent to all slave modules for further processing.
