The GRACE twin satellites

The twin satellites GRACE-1 (dubbed "Tom") and GRACE-2 (dubbed "Jerry") on their chase in space. The mass distribution on Earth is determined from the variations of their distance. The accuracy is sufficient to "weigh" the melting of glaciers and the draw-down of ground water reservoirs.
