Mount Olympus on Mars

The height of the summit of Olympus Mons above the surface of Mars can only be accurately grasped when viewed in 'false colour'. If the image were depicted using colours as they would appear to the human eye, the viewer would have great difficulty discerning the physical elevation of the mountain due to the uniform colour of the martian surface.
