The first RapidEye image, true colour version

This image showing the El Bolsón area in Argentina near the Argentine-Chilean border was recorded by the RapidEye #1 satellite, which is named "Choros". It has a resolution of five metres per picture element (pixel). The area covered by this detail image is 12.5 kilometres x 12.5 kilometres in size. True-colour images can be used for cartographic purposes, whereas infrared recording is used for biomass analysis.
