Columbus-Kontrollzentrum am DLR-Standort Oberpfaffenhofen

Am 6. Dezember 2007 soll das europäische Weltraum-Labor Columbus zur Internationalen Raumstation ISS gebracht werden. Sobald es an der Raumstation angekoppelt ist, übernimmt das Columbus-Kontrollzentrum in Oberpfaffenhofen die Verantwortung für das europäische Weltraumlabor. In Abstimmung mit den Missionskontrollzentren der NASA und der russischen Raumfahrtbehörde RKA wird das wissenschaftliche Programm des Weltraumlabors von Oberpfaffenhofen aus koordiniert.
