Dreifache Auszeichnung durch das European Robotics Forum

Vom 13. bis 15. März 2018 fand in Tampere, Finnland, das diesjährige European Robotics Forum statt. im Rahmen der Konferenz wurden Daniel Leidner und Johannes Englsberger für Ihre erfolgreich abgeschlossenen Dissertationen jeweils mit dem Georges Giralt PhD Award ausgezeichnet. Außerdem wurde der DLR-Ausgründung Roboception ein Award in der Kategorie Tech Transfer verliehen.

Beaming instructions from space: astronaut at the ISS controls robot in Oberpfaffenhofen

ESA astronaut Paolo Nespoli, who is currently on the ISS, was able to use the humanoid robot Rollin' Justin as an intelligent assistant for the first time on 25th August. This technology could potentially be used for repair work by robots on future mars missions.

Off to the moon! ROBEX-conference kicks off at Catania

On Wednesday, 28th of June 2017 the ROBEX-Alliance conference started in Catania, Sicily. Scientists of the Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics and their DLR-colleagues worked on Mount Etna on a series of experiments as part the analogue moon mission ROBEX since 12th of June. They are presenting their results live at the conference.

ATV Albert Einstein In-Flight-Call Event

On October 24, the German Aerospace Center, together with the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM), is holding an in-flight call at the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ). The ESA astronaut, Luca Parmitano, who was the first Italian to conduct extravehicular activity in space on July 9, 2013, will connect to the LRZ live via video link from the International Space Station ISS.
