Automatica 2018

The Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics is taking part in the Automatica trade fair for the eighth time. Automatica will be held in Munich from June 19 to 22, 2018.

One focus of the institute is on the pilot project Factory of the Future. It involves the realization of robust robot-aided manufacturing processes with the help of digitization approaches in the context of Industry 4.0. This includes, for example, cobots (collaborative robots) that are as easy to use as smartphones, as well as robots that generate any quantity of the programs necessary for assembly. These flexible and networked manufacturing processes make applications more efficient, less expensive and safer. One of the highlights at Automatica, for example, is the automatically configurable work cell with the lightweight robot SARA and the demonstration of further cooperative and intelligent guiding scenarios.

The exhibits of the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics can be found daily from 9 am to 5 pm at Stand 502 in Hall B4.
