Hydraulic Steering Test Rig
(3. March 2009)

The test rigs are used to investigate the dynamic characteristics of hydraulic power steering systems. The results can be used to update numerical simulation models of hydraulic power steering systems from the automotive industry. The power steering test rig below is implemented with pressure sensors, torque sensors, force sensor, angle sensors, linear sensor,  temperature sensors and current sensor. The excitation of the steering wheel is carried out by an electric motor and manually at different angles and frequencies. A hydraulic cylinder simulates the roughness of the street.
