Roboception offers innovative navigation, real-time perception and manipulation solutions for robotic systems. Customer-specific software products for a variety of hardware platforms are developed in compliance with the customer’s individual plug-and-produce requirements. Roboception’s innovative sensor solutions enable customers across all robotic domains to generate real-time, time and location-dependent 3D data products and to equip robotic systems with robust and seamless infrastructure-free navigation. Following the concept of “Sense - Reason - Act”, 3D technologies such as object localization, recognition and scene analysis, robotic manipulation and application development complete the portfolio. The solutions include highly intuitive, user-friendly interfaces, parametrization and programming, hence a detailed robotic knowledge is not required for their setup and operation.
tacterion is a spin-off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Munich. The team formed in 2014. Since 2007 research was conducted at the Robotics and Mechatronics Center (RMC) that lead to the development of the tacterion technology - a new kind of tactile sensor. tacterion offers a unique, patent-protected technology: a tactile sensor in form of a polymer-based Artificial Skin. The tactile sensor can detect the slightest pressure on a complex shaped surface. The fields of application are manifold: in Robotics, in MedTech or as a new kind of input device in Human-Machine-Interaction (HMI).
For many industrial applications, engineers have resorted to available drive motors without optimizing these for the respective application. For many mechatronic drives, such as the axle drives of robots, however, careful selection is a prerequisite to achieve the maximum torque and precision at a minimum weight and minimal power loss. By optimizing all relevant motor parameters while observing the required load profile (concurrent engineering), the researchers at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) were able to develop the new "RoboDrive" motor technology. This technology combines high torque development and power density in relation to weight and size. Dimensions such as synchronization, dynamics and thermal connection are aligned to the particularly high demands of robotics. The RoboDrive motors have been manufactured by TQ Systems since 2006
SENSODRIVE is a spin-off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR). We are specialists in implementing the latest developments in drive technology in either our own or custom-built products. In order to do this we use the most modern methods from concurrent engineering and mechatronics. Innovation, quality, creativity and flexibility have the highest priority for us. As do professional and personal customer support and a reliable service – that is why we can count well-known manufacturers from the areas of aerospace, robotics, medical technology, simulator technology and automobile technology as our customers. We see ourselves as a system supplier for optimal drive solutions.
DUALIS is an innovative development service provider which supports its customers from the idea stage right through to the certification of tailor-made systems and products. As a spin-off of the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR e. V., German Centre for Aeronautics and Aerospace), we have transferred technology used in aeronautics and applied it to medical technology and also provide services to other sectors such as the automotive supply industry, consumer electronics and machine and plant construction.
The goal of Kastanienbaum is to turn the vision of human robot coexistence into reality. Innovative software solutions are developed and brought to market to achieve this mission. With these unique concepts, solutions and algorithms for operation, programming, safety and control of robots, it will finally be possible for humans and robots to interact and even cooperate with each other.
Wessling Robotics GmbH
Wessling Robotics GmbH was founded in 2013 as a spin off robotics technology firm based DLR. Located in Wessling, Germany, in close proximity to the DLR Robotics and Mechatronics Center, its product focus is on cutting edge technology in advanced dexterous robotic hands. Wessling Robotics’ dexterous hand is based on the industrial design award winning DLR/HIT II hand. The Wessling hand is used by research institutions across Europe for scientific research, as well as industrial partners such as KUKA. In addition to the Wessling hand, Wessling Robotics is also foraying into prosthetic applications, which is currently under development.
