IMENS+

IMENS simulation environment (TENT)
Project description

The objective of the IMENS+ project was the extension of the design tool for analysis of unstationary problems and activly cooled structures with fluid-structure-interaction developed in the project IMENS. Ths includes further developments in the existing simulation modules for fluid, structure, and their coupling as well as their integration in a powerful software integration system.

The main objectives of the project are as follows:

  • Extension of DLR's flow solver.
  • TAU (using unstructured meshes) for unstationary problems.
  • Coupling of DLR's flow solver TAU with the structural/thermal solvers MSC NASTRAN und ANSYS within the simulation environment TENT.
  • Validation of the coupled simulation tool by windtunnel tests.
  • Analysis of windtunnel experiments and flight configurations by coupled simulations in the simulation environment.
