Worldwide, the data from earth observation missions are stored in the archives of satellite operators or their data processing centers. You can search most of these archives and order the data they contain through their Internet-based user interfaces, such as, for example EOWEB (Earth Observation on the Web). Besides raw data like radar amplitudes, you can also have access to higher levels of data, such as calibrated or georeferenced elevation models processed from the raw radar data.
So that this satellite data can be used in a variety of application fields, the applied remote sensing institutes at DLR together with selected users have defined suitable data products. These are generated automatically at regular time intervals and made available via the EOWEB interface or the Web server of the applied remote sensing institutes. In order to familiarize the general public with satellite remote sensing, scientific content can be visualized in attractive images and video animations.
