Cooperation Agreement between DLR, Germany, and MASEN, Morocco

A General Cooperation Agreement between the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN) has been signed in Oujda, Morocco on May 31, 2011 in the framework of the 2nd edition of “Les Assises de l’Energie” which were presided by King Mohammed VI with the participation of important national and international politicians, scientists and decision makers.

The purpose of this agreement is to regulate the cooperation between DLR and MASEN regarding the research and development in the CSP field. This cooperation agreement has been elaborated between the parties within the framework of the enerMENA Project as a practical step towards the realization of the DESERTEC concept through targeted support, aiming at the creation of technical CSP know-how in the partner countries and institutions.

Objectives of the cooperation are the development of R&D infrastructure and joint research activities in the field of solar energy, so as the conception and improvement of solar technology equipment and implementation of CSP pilot plants.
