The performance of a solar power plant depends critically on the quality of the single components and their coordination and adjustment. Collectors, mirrors, and receiver must be optimally adjusted in a plant of parabolic troughs as well as the various mirrors in the heliostat field of a tower plant.
We study and qualify solar power plants from a single collector to complete collector and heliostat fields. The key aspects of the analyses are:
To study these aspects we use thermographic, photogrammetric, and deflectometric methods as well as sensors for measurements of radiation, temperature, and flow. To cover large Parabolic trough plants we use quadrocopters as part of the measurement system QFly.
Our department offers tests and consulting services for the construction, the starting, and the operation phase of CSP power plants.
