May 8, 2014: Second Professional CSP Project Planning and Management Course in Cairo (Egypt)
The second enerMENA CSP Project Planning and Management Course (eM-Project-02) took place from March 17th – 20th 2014 in Cairo (Egypt). It was organized conjointly by the Institute of Solar Research together with GIZ Egypt and the Egyptian German High Level Joint Committee for Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Environmental Protection (JCEE).
October 2, 2013: The Institute of Solar Research extends its offer of capacity building courses for CSP specialists at the MENA partner countries with online video tutorials
In 55 videos, researchers from the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) facilitate profound knowledge about the fundamentals of CSP (Concentrating Solar Power) project planning, construction, maintenance and optimisation of solar thermal power plants. The enerMENA courses and video tutorials are geared towards engineers and technicians who already work with CSP, students aspiring to do so and university professors in the enerMENA partner countries around the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
August 28, 2013: New eM-Expert course starts on September 1st in Amman, Jordan
The third eM-Expert course for managers and engineers from several national electricity utilities of the MENA region will be held in Amman Jordan between September 1st and 5th in cooperation with the Arab Union of electricity (AUE) and the Jordanian National Electric Power Company (NEPCO).
August 28, 2013: Moroccos First Summer School for Revewable Energies with Participation of the Insitute of Solar Research
During the first Moroccan Summer School for Renewable Energy scientists from the DLR Institute of Solar Research passed their knowledge of concentrating solar thermal on to Moroccan junior engineers.
August 8, 2013: eM-Internship 2013 – A Great Experience for Fifteen Students from the MENA Region
Fifteen students from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Libya had the unique opportunity to learn for ten days about Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) Technologies at the Plataforma Solar de Almeria, Europe’s biggest test platforms in this field. August 6, 2013: New Professional CSP Project Planning and Management Courses (eM-Project series)
eM-Project is a new training course with the objective of supporting perspective project planners and managers in the MENA region to understand the project development process and to get involved in it. eM-Project-01 will be organized in Amman between August 19th and 22nd in cooperation with the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE).
July 4, 2013: Extension of the enerMENA Meteorological Network and New Collaboration in the Field of Testing of Reflector Materials
Four new enerMENA meteostations have been installed recently at different sites in Morocco in collaboration with IRESEN (Institut de Recherche en Energie Solaire et Energies Nouvelles).
July 4, 2013: eM-Internship 2013
The second enerMENA Internship has started on June 25th at at Plataforma Solar in Almeria, Spain. Fifteen students from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Libya are learning in a two weeks intensive practical training about Concentrating Solar Power Technologies and their application.
