Ongoing Research Projects (extract)

(18. March 2014)

Numerous thermal processes in the food and beverage industry, chemical industry and many other industries are operated with steam as heat transfer medium.

In the project SolSteam the Institute of Solar Research develops and investigates in collaboration with it's partners Industrial Solar and Viessman concepts for the integration of solar steam directly into a steam generator for secure supply of industrial steam systems.

Solar heat is directly fed to the steam generator and reduces the conventional firing accordingly. The aim of the project is to determine the parameters for the secure supply of industrial solarfed steam systems. A demonstration of the preferred concept in a commercial plant is going to make the project complete.
