In this working package all relevant technologies for the utilization of renewable were investigated. Their potential future contribution to a sustainable energy system was determined. A scenario called "Orientation" looking ahead to 2050 was the general framework for the investigation. Within this scenario the contribution of renewable energy technologies in the future German energy system was described and assessed with respect to ecological, economic and socal criteria.
