The DAAD aims to promote German-Brazilian research cooperation in the field of concentrating solar plants (CSP). German scientists will conduct research jointly with Brazilian colleagues about this topic and will realize concrete project results that are essential for the implementation of national and global climate protection targets. Here, the focus is not only on research on technical and scientific aspect, but also application-oriented aspects of the subject are considered. The proposed research collaborations aim to provide knowledge gains that are conducive to German and / or Brazilian side of the implementation of climate protection goals. In the cooperation projects, concrete research objectives that are useful this overarching concern, are sought.
Call for Proposal
For the call of proposals in the Research Theme: Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) we like to focus on Part 2. System/grid integration
Before conducting an initial study on the opportunities of CSP in Brazil, the status quo of energy planning approaches in Brazil and Germany should be assessed. Therefore, researches from Brazil and Germany will get the opportunity to present and discuss their models and methodologies. The strength and weaknesses of the respective methodologies should be analysed. Consequently, a scenario framework for the modelling will be defined in a participatory process with the project participants and interested parties. This framework will be used for initial model runs which will be presented and compared during the final meeting.
