DEMMIN – Durable Environmental Multidisciplinary Monitoring Information NetworkThe Durable Environmental Multidisciplinary Monitoring Information Network (DEMMIN) is designed to provide in situ data (environmental data) for the development and validation of remote sensing algorithms and processes, among other things.
DLR Short-Arm Centrifuge (Module 1 at :envihab)The DLR Short-Arm Centrifuge, Module 1 at DLR's :envihab research facility in Cologne, is a special unit and the only one of its kind in the world, offering enhanced possibilities for researching the effects of altered gravity, especially as a countermeasure to the health risks that occur in microgravity conditions.
Transonic cascade wind tunnel TGKThe transonic cascade wind tunnel (TGK) is installed at the DLR Institute of Propulsion Technology in Cologne. This large-scale facility is used for investigations on compressor blade cascades; it is the world‘s only such facility that allows inflow Mach numbers of up to 1.4, whilst simultaneously enabling independent variation of the Reynolds number.
Tunnel Simulation Facility Göttingen (TSG)This testing facility, which is located at the DLR Institute of Aerodynamics and Flow Technology in Göttingen, consists of the Tunnel Simulation Facility (TSG) itself and the Crosswind Test Facility (SWG). Together, they form a one-of-a-kind centre for studying stationary and transient aerodynamics, such as the effects that occur when trains enter tunnels.
