To determine which investigations need to be carried out for a particular load analysis, it is necessary to first define realistic load assumptions taking operating conditions and certification regulations into consideration. For this purpose, the Institute produces a loads catalogue.
The requirements arise from the operating conditions such as flight altitude, flight speed and the permissible load of the aircraft, as well as the requirements derived from the certification process. Depending on the background of the investigation, static and dynamic loads in flight, landing and ground loads, inertial loads and special loads such as pressurization, bird impact, crash and material fatigue are covered.
