Aircraft Noise Research

4.2.2011

Titelbild Fluglärmprognose Bild1

The aircraft noise group works on procedures for the prediction of aircraft noise pollution and the development of computer models which can be used as part of these procedures. The noise prediction methods range from simple methods for the practical prediction of noise loads, through to complex noise-source and propagation models currently in scientific development. The group is a leader in the interdisciplinary aspects of aircraft noise research, coordinating the project „Quiet Air Traffic“ (Leiser Flugverkehr) from 1999 to 2007.
In addition the group acts in an advisory capacity to public authorities, the aviation industry and interest groups as well as providing general advice about aircraft noise questions. In this capacity the group is part of a number of boards of national and international organisations.

  • Applications for numerical aircraft noise prediction
  • Aircraft noise calculation models
  • Presence on boards and committees
  • Aircraft noise research as an interdisciplinary field
