The ARTEM consortium is carefully composed in order to collectively fulfil the projects objectives of technology development and impact assessment most successfully.
ARTEM brings together the expertise of a large and diverse consortium consisting of twenty-four (24) partners throughout Europe: national research centers for aviation research, universities, small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and major European aircraft industry companies.
Large research centers like DLR, ONERA, CIRA, and NLR provide expertise, dedicated and well-qualified test rigs and profound research background in many fields. They can rely on exchange with internal experts and experience from many national, European and other international research projects and cooperations. Universities from all over Europe gather in ARTEM to provide their specific expertise – often related to novel concepts and approaches and will provide additional benefit to the European aeronautics community by offering high-level training and exciting research opportunities to PhD candidates - the noise engineers of tomorrow. Small and medium sized enterprises are bringing their own expertise – as e.g. Pipistrel Vertical Solutions with electrical propulsion – and will in turn benefit from the concentrated research efforts they are participating in.
Industry partners (engine as well as aircraft manufacturers) are involved in the specification, assessment, and exploitation phases which constitute a very important part in order to ensure the coherence of the technologies and configurations with industrial needs and other large research programs like CleanSky. In addition, significant contributions from industry partners in the technology and methods development emphasize the relevance of the ARTEM research program.
