Mesh Generation
Characteristics:
generates a mesh based on given blade-, splitter-, hub- and shroud coordinates
blade generation by skipping internal grid points that initially have been generated inside the blades,
hence extremly thick blades, sharp trailing edges and sharp tip clearences can be meshed
3-dim. transformed sub-meshing technique to generate new blade leading edges if nescessary
generates 3-dim. root fillets including interception control
implicit re-generation of splitter blade leading edges in case of 'flank-milling' blades
parametric control for tip clearance generation
mesh generation within the tip clearance gap
spinner generation for impellers in an overhung position
parametric variation of the diffuser shroud and/or hub geometry
recursive refinement of meshlines in local blade regions
generates stage meshes with adjustable plane of intersection
the blocked, adaptive and unstructured mesh consists of finite volumes
Post-design: parametric variation of blade- and splitter profiles and the hub- and shroud coordinates
Generated Meshes:
Mesh of a high speed centrifugal compressor with vaneless diffuser
Detailed section: hub near the blade leading edges
Detailed section: hub near the blade trailing edges
