Berlin-Charlottenburg – In October the DIV-Workshop for measuring methods in combustion research has been held by invitation of the Department of Engine Acoustics of the Institute of Propulsion Technology.
About 20 participants of almost every location of the DLR discussed diagnostic methods for combustion and technical flows for aerospace research. Venue was the head office of the Department of Engine Acoustics at the TU-Berlin. The spectrum of applications ranged from CARS in spray flames, LIF, DGV, Interferometry and Rayleigh-Scattering to Acoustic PIV.
The current state of research as well as the application of modern measuring methods was presented in 14 lectures.
DIV stands for Combustion Diagnostics and is a new established internal DLR – Workshop. Since 2005 such meetings have been held alternately at the different institutes of the DLR which are developing measurement techniques or researching in combustion. At the location in Berlin- Charlottenburg it was the first of its kind and it was organized by Dr. Ingo Röhle (AT) and Anne Rausch (AT). In 2005 and 2006 comparable events preceded in Göttingen and Lampoldshausen. The next workshop will be held in Cologne-Porz in 2008.
The intensive exchange within the DLR serves the coordination of the cooperation of the different study groups and the exchange between combustion research and measurement techniques developing departments.
