Dust jet from the ‘dark side’
Just two minutes elapsed between the acquisition of these two images showing the ejection of a new dust jet from the shadowed side of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The left-hand image was acquired by the Optical, Spectroscopic, and Infrared Remote Imaging System (OSIRIS) on board the Rosetta orbiter at 07:13 CET on 12 March 2015; the right-hand image was acquired at 07:15 CET.
