The crew of MIR'97
The German astronaut Reinhold Ewald (centre) with his Russian colleagues Vasili Zibliew (left) and Aleksandr Lasutkin in the Mir simulator of the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (photo from 1997). The three cosmonauts were launched en route to the Mir 20 years ago - on 10 February 1997 - from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on board the Sojus TM 25. Ewald spent 18 days on the Russian space station, conducting 34 material science and medical experiments.
