Strengthening collaboration with China
Matthias Maurer was in charge of the collaboration with his Chinese counterparts in his pre-astronaut years. So he is very familiar with the foundations of the cooperation, speaks Chinese and has visited the country on many occasions. The Sino-European collaboration is a new form of working together. The plan is to build a common foundation for the future. The first training modules for European astronauts in China are already scheduled for this summer.
