Mobility has a high priority in our society. People want to reach their destination safely, comfortably and quickly. Goods must be transported economically over short and long distances. The consequences of mobility can be seen in environmental pollution, accidents and congestion, which increase with the ever-growing volume of traffic. We are facing up to these challenges. We are developing solutions for safe and efficient mobility in the future.
Institute of Transportation Systems
Dynamic driving simulatorThe dynamic driving simulator is used for testing assistance functions at an advanced stage of product development. The simulation is designed to be very realistic, enabling a valid evaluation of the functions even in critical situations, and thus a safe and reliable transition to the test vehicle and real traffic.
RailSETOptimum interaction between humans and systems requires appropriate consideration of users’ capabilities and skills during system development. This also applies to the railway sector. User requirements regarding function, design and operation of the respective interfaces must therefore be analysed and reviewed by interim results. The RailSET® – Railway Simulation Environment for Train Drivers and Operators – laboratory makes a substantial contribution to all levels of such a human-centred development process.
Virtual Reality Labor - 360° simulation environmentThe Virtual Reality Lab is a highly dynamic and scalable simulation environment. It is able to show a 360° representation of the virtual world. The flexible integration of various mockups and vehicles permits the testing and evaluation of automation and assistance functions by means of repeatable and reproducible scenarios. The use of a shared software framework makes it possible to link with other simulators and infrastructures within the Institute.
